Upgrading Asus A515-51 memory - where is the spare slot?

I have a Asus A515-51 and from the cruical web site it advised that my machine had a spare slot. It thinks that there is 4GB pre-installed that can't be removed but there should be a spare slot. If I check windows task manager app to check the memory it tells me that there is actually 8GB installed and that there is only 1 of 2 slots used.
So I order some memory, go to open up the underside and there is already an 8BG memory module installed and no 2nd slot.  Is there a PDF or guide somewhere to explain where the 2nd slot is so I can install the memory?

I'm afraid it's not possible to know via software how many slots for memory one has.

The reports can be misleading when on-board memory is installed, or missing but there is no socket in its place. They'd still report 2 sockets, but just 1 is available. The A515-54G without on-board memory is like that...

No socket in the underside of the board, just the place where on-board memory for the other sub-models go, plus ZAW is the board of the A515-54 if I'm not mistaken, ZAW2 is the A515-54G. Just some inconsistencies, sloppy I guess, I would have liked to be able to run on double channel.

Inspecting it yourself may be the only way to go, but if it's not easily accessible, it may not be there I'm afraid, I'm sorry.

    Hi,
You have 4GB onboard memory and a slot for upgrade, you can install up to 16GB module in the slot, if you already have a 8GB module in the slot, you have total memory of 12GB.

That is not the case. I've attached some photos to show you. Windows reports 1 of 2 slots used. Total 8GB.
The sticker on the front of machine also states it as 8GB.
As you can also see if I open it up, the only visible slot is taken. Nothing under the drive and their is only 1 slot on the other portion that can be opened.
     case.
  • Some models come with a blank space where the onboard ram would be installed. Can you upload a photo from your offboard ram?
