I can't watch music video's using my laptop and have to use my mobile for streaming reasons. I have tried defragmenting my computer using Norton life lock and don't know of any existing viruses running on my computer. It's currently running slow now as i type so it's taking a while to send information...... This computer was only bought in February 2020 and I haven't had anything but trouble in regards to youtube and sometimes I find that internet pages can cause me stress too. My model is an Aspier 3 or A315-22. Please help soon

Uninstall, don't just disable, life lock and any other non-Microsoft virus scanners that are loaded on startup. Windows Defender and MaliciousSoftwareRemoval tool (mrt.exe) are all most folks need. Jack E/NJ

  • Also, have you checked the disk is 100% in the task manager?

Well I have paid for life lock so that's not a suitable option.. What do you mean about the hard disk?

Do you work for Acer or are you a random user like me of a computer?

This is primarily an ACER users forum like you. Only the forum monitors are ACER employees or contractors and may occasionally chime in. @egydiocoelho would like you to check to see if percentage HDD use is unusually high in TaskManager. Might as well check CPU/GPU usage as well when you're trying to watch videos/music. Also check to see if any process like lock are using a lot of resources at the same time. Jack E/NJ

I am looking at performance now and it's telling me with two Firefox pages open, two Microsoft edge and a word document that my CPU usage is ranging between 36% and 76%.. It went up to around 80% when using you tube but was running so slow.

Active apps are listed including Microsoft word but Norton life lock isn't and thus doesn't seem to be the problem..

My processor speed is 1.5 ghz and I have 4gb ram so is one of them the problem? My processor is known as  AMD radeon A4 9120 with 4 compute cores..

Yes, but what's the Disk and RAM usage at the same time? Jack E/NJ

At the same time as what? This is getting really annoying now as I am not getting any closer to resolving my issue

At the same time you're trying to watch the stuttering/jumping  video. You have seem to minimal RAM available, especially free RAM, needed for running multiple browser sessions & apps and videos at the same time. Win10 alone consumes about 2GB even if you have nothing else running. Try running on line video by reducing the RAM load. Jack E/NJ

My Internet browsers work quite well but YouTube doesn't even if I don't have various Web browsers open.. I have no idea how to "reduce the ram load " like you have asked and will ring Acer support on Monday as I am not as advanced as you are on computers..

As @egydiocoelho and I asked earlier, what RAM and Disk percentages(aka usages) are you seeing in TaskManager when the videos are stuttering? You can easily reduce RAM load by reducing the number of browser sessions and apps that you are running at the same time. Doesn't matter how well they seem to be running. What matters is the RAM resources they're using up doing nothing that the videos could be using to run smoother.  Jack E/NJ

  • Just send a screenshot of the task manager or record a video of the problem and post on youtube, while you watch videos:

Well I can't upload a screenshot even though it saves to my computer absolutely fine. With a video on play which is recent "Joel corry and MNEK - Head and Heart" my disk usage was 10% which is pretty low but my CPU was running at 100% and memory at 90%...

I had one page open and it was this..

So just identify which applications,  processes or programs seem to be using so much CPU and memory resources. Just go down the list in the left hand column in TaskManager and look for big percentages under the CPU and memory columns. Jack E/NJ
