Acer Predator Triton 500 Warranty with installed m.2 ssd

Hi! I am thinking of adding an m.2 ssd to my Acer Predator PT515-51. I know how hard it is and I'm willing to take those risks but I just wanted to see if it voids warranty by adding an ssd. I am also thinking of adding thermal paste, will that void it too?

    FaarisAnsari the warranty its not on the back of the mobo the warranty stickers/seals are usually in the chassis screws so you cant disassemble it without removing/breaking them which voids the warranty automatically if you dont have any you can disassemble it without voiding it assuming you dont damage anything in the process some countries do not have warranty seals its not allowed by law and on the triton 500 you will have to disassemble it completely to either upgrade ram or ssd because its a inverted mobo

  • Does your notebook have a warranty seal? Have you already contacted acer technical support in your country to see if installing the ssd and replacing the thermal paste violates the hardware warranty?

    I don't see a warranty seal on the backside of the motherboard.

  • Exactly @xapim. In some countries, manufacturers provide a blue screw, so that the repair center knows if the notebook has been disassembled. That is why I suggested to the user to ask technical support, if the disassembly violates the hardware warranty.

    Depends. Usually acer put warranty sticker over one of your chassis screw, and the only way you can upgrade is by removing the cover/sticker. destroying the sticker will surely void your warrranty
  • Here in Brazil, Acer sells notebooks without warranty seals and without screws in a different color. This allows Brazilian users to disassemble the notebook, without violating the warranty. However, if any parts are damaged during disassembly, the warranty is void.
