I tried to recover using Alt+f10 but is not working  (i get a blue screen with the word recovery in a corner but nothing happens) and if I use F12 it takes me to the Windows reset options; I used all of the and still nothing is like my entire system was erased . How to recover my system?
I think using Command Prompt is the only alternative or if someone have an extra USB Recovery drive . Please send it to me.

Thanks

Sorry, I'm asking you the question. Did you try to upgrade the Win10 home version that was factory-installed on the machine to another Win10 version like Win10 Pro? Or was this an update to the Win10 home version that was factory installed? Jack E/NJ

the thing is I don't really know... this was my father computer... and he died 2 months ago. He wasn't very savvy here, but I think it was an upgrade to windows 10 and my niece is telling me she tried to update to windows 10 home to pro and that was when it was messed up...

    Sorry about your Dad.

If an upgrade to Win10Pro was attempted, then yes, it probably nixed being able to run the ALT+F10 recovery method. You can however try to clean re-install the latest Win10 home version by using Microsoft's USB Media Creation tool at this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 . This will install the generic version of Win10 which may or may not need ACER device drivers from this link https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6752?b=1   if for example your touchpad doesn't work or display doesn't look right.  Since the Win10 OEM license is already embedded on your mainboard, there's no hidden costs or fees. Thank you ... the thing is that’s the only PC at home I have a MacBook Pro and not sure if I can download it there and use it on a windows computer. I ordered a “recovery disk” (At this point maybe I should get a new one , spending all this $ on it)  but if you think I can use the Mac for this , please let me know ..
I’m sure if I recover the computer everything it might be gone , but , would be a great thing if I could recover important stuff my father had  in that computer...
Thank you ... appreciate your help

You can probably recover personal files  by simply removing the HDD/SSD, attaching it to a USB-to-HDD/SSD adapter (less than $10) and access it from the USB port of another Windows computer, perhaps a friend or another family member. I'm not sure if your MAC can read the NTFS formatted disk but it might be able to copy the files on to the MAC disk.

The ACER recovery disk for that machine, if still available from the online store, should give you the option of ***trying*** to recover the system to a bootable state while saving personal files. It doesn't always work. Price is about $50.

If it was my Dad's machine with some of his files still on it, I'd probably first remove the drive, get the USB-2-HDD adapter from Amazon, and find a friend with another PC to try to get his stuff off the drive.
