    If ya have not already  stumbled across this info (google.ca search),  how about this one

    https://www.how-fixit.com/laptop-repair-guides/acer/acer-aspire-es-512-es1-531/

    Which seems to cover a few hardware items for your unit !

    p.s. yowser you have one of those ' clamshell tablets w/physical keyboard ',   the type I switched from a Acer competitor,   'cause that seemed to be where they were heading (so fast their online manual had not caught up with product rollout plus they solder in their stock ram),   but ACER still has the  ram/hdd access panel form factor  product line ..... yippee !! I did happen to see the video. I also saw some other forums. I saw where someone said a standard 2.5 will work.
    It is my 13 yr old son's laptop. I don't want to spend 300 to fix it. And he wants that computer.
    Well... He would take the one he saw for $3000. Not happening. Smiley Happy

    'Crucial'  was mentioned in one of the Acer unit review vids'.

    Here is a  (bkmkd) webpage showing their latest offerings in the 2.5 ;

    I'm looking for a replacement part that I cannot find.  I have a ES1-512-P9GT where the ribbon Clip to the ribbon cable from the motherboard to the keyboard has broken and is lost.  Any ideas where I can get it replaced?  (it is the motherboard side where I cannot the ribbon cable to stay in and connected.      Thanks

    I just re-read my post and did not explain it clearly.  There is a ribbon cable that connects the motherboard to the keyboard.  There is a small plastic clip that helps hold the ribbon cable to the motherboard.  It's that clip that is broken and needs to be replaced.
