Will there be any problem if I simply leave the paste as is? I checked around the forum and found a couple of post that recommended K5-pro but I cannot get it to my country due to lockdown. Also saw that thermal pad dimension required for some of the chips is weird.. between .5 and 1mm.. so a no there as well.

The first time I repasted my laptop I left the pink paste as is. It didn't seem to make any difference. Up to you. If you cant get K5 pro then you just have to trial and error with thermal pads. Arctic has a good one. Start with 0.5mm and see if you can see imprint on pad. Just a heads up, K5 pro is a bit messy.

Can you elaborate a bit about the K5 pro? I am completely new at this stuff. I saw the manufacturers video and they only instructed to plop some paste on the chips claiming excess paste shouldn't be a issue... Is it?

raisul2012 the pink paste its to replace the old thermal pads solution any paste will do for the vram chipsets if you replace with thermal pads theres a good chance you will create thermal issues as the heatsink wouldnt be evenly leveled  properly when screwed back in place anyway i dont advise it but its up to you excess paste on the vram its not and issue the only issue is if its on the cpu/gpu diodes to avoid this use the spread method only a thin layer covering both diodes its enough too much paste its bad  good luck
