Hi there!
My non Acer Taifu charger never seems to work when I plug it in during a play session on any game that isn't from 2005 or before. Please help.
Thanks!

I'm sorry to tell you this but non Acer chargers have low efficiency and provide less power than stated. Your laptop doesn't receive enough power to operate and charge the battery at the same time while gaming if you are not using original chargers. You may charge if you are in idle, because the CPU doesn't enter turbo mode and the display will switch to the integrated GPU. If you continue using universal power adapters you might also damage the battery or internals. Please save up and buy only certified original chargers (in this case buy from Acer) for best performance and safety for your laptop. You have 12 month warranty supplied for the original adapter if it's broken by the way. I suggest you to find a original Acer adapter compatible with the AN517-51 (must have at least 135 W), or just send your power adapter to warranty if possible.

Ok so if I accidently broke my original adapter does that mean I can get a new one for free?

Check this one out, it is original and it provides 135 W: https://www.ebay.com/c/1369762654

If you broke it by ripping it or such, I'm affraid you may not get another one. But if it got destroyed because of some power malfunction or just got broken all of a sudden, yes, your warranty provider must replace it since you couldn't have provoked it yourself.
