Hello,
So I decided to upgrade my ram to two sticks of crucial 8 GB ddr4 2666 (Yes these are compatible with my PC) and I am having trouble with the second slot. The second slot does not seem to be reading the sticks. I know both of the new sticks I got, work as I tested it by sticking each stick into slot 1 and running the PC which ran fine. It also runs fine when both slots are occupied. I don't know if there is a need to enable the second slot in bios or if the second slot is just faulty. I also ran CPU-Z and on the application, there is no results from slot 2. What can help me solve this issue?

If there is anyone who could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I've been searching through forums and posts and haven't been able to find anything to help me resolve the issue. Thanks in advance.

This looks like HW issue with the MB/RAM slot...

    Hi,
It could be a faulty slot, have you tried both modules in the second slot one by one? You have to try all combinations, have you checked the slot for any dust? did you make sure that the modules are seated properly? Did you have a module in the slot earlier? If so, have you tried the original module in the slot?
If everything fails, you may have to send it for a service, please contact Acer support centre in your region.

Yeah, I had tried all the above. As I feared, it just may be a faulty slot. Thanks for the help. I appreciate the responses.

    Then two options left
    1. Sell the kit and get 16gb stick and use it in the working slot
    2. Take it to repair shop for a diag. and guote
