I try to update it put I got this error, somebody say to change to UEFI, I do it, and now I got a another problem, it is saying "No bootable device"

2HasckaY your only solution its to repaste it with kryonaut or similar theres nothing else you can do here to improve your temps and you shouldnt upgrade any bios if you dont have any hardware issues the bios updates will not solve any thermal issues bios updates might brick your device if not properly done and unless the bios notes state that it will fix the issue your having should never be updated at all

<<I see that somebody say that if you upgrade the bios to version 10.1 it will by better for performance.>>

Bios 10.1 that doesnt exist and you should be on uefi mode secure boot enable by default unless you have formatted it completely and fresh installed windows in ahci (Which its not recommended) but thats another story plus microsoft already demanded all laptops/desktops manufacturers to have the ahci mode removed from all bios as windows will only support uefi from now on so no one can downgrade OS anymore for ex win7 in a new machine no way you could get it installed neither any other OS that require ahci mode

Youre running a really old bios version mine came on stock with 1.19 and i only upgraded to 1.20 once just because never touched it again this was 2 years ago so im just wondering for you to have 1.09 (which its a 2017/07 bios) for how many years you have it 3 years ???

And this is the latest bios  for your laptop

    1. Fix 2nd hdd information not shown in bios menu.

    Date:

    2019/04/01

    Version:

    1.22

    Vendor:

    Acer

    Size:

    6.4 MB

    Download

Also by the error youre getting in the first prtscr seems somehow your efi partition its corrupted probably the best here its to try to backup whatever you need from your drive (either using it on any other device via usb or even with any boot drive like hirens/win7/portable/linux live etc to get access to the files) and then if your recovery partition its still intact perform a stock recovery clean install choose delete everything option last resort if corrupted create a windows usb drive and clean install it

Just complementing my colleague's answer xapim, you can convert ssd to gpt, inside the windows installation. To do this, press shift + f10 and enter these commands:
    diskpart
    list disk
    clean (erases everything)
    convert gpt
Then exit the CMD and start the installation.

2HasckaY thats exactly what it said above you installed windows on ahci so your hdd was formatted to mbr to install in uefi you need the hdd formatted/converted to gpt before you try to reinstall it in uefi, mbr not compatible with uefi you can use like hirens boot cd/usb or any other live bootable drive which would allow you to convert your hdd to gpt first there are also win10/7 bootable usb drives if you look for them to troubleshoot stuff also make sure your windows usb install drive its formatted to gpt (usually windows media creation will do it but u only have the latest version) if you wanted to downgrade to an earlier version lets say like the stable 1809 you would had to get the 1809 iso and burn it into a usb drive via rufus in gpt mode hope this helps   :)

    Hey brother, @xapim
    I am currently on 1.13,
Is it ok if i directly jump to 1.20?
    And is 1.20 stable?

Ps:i have no h/w issues, just wanted my bios to get a bit new updates. That's all.

    Kindly respond.
    Regards
    Dazz.
  • I never tested version 1.20. Now, if your notebook is working properly, there is no need to update the bios.
