I recently got this laptop and it's amazing. I love everything about it, it supports optimus and runs everything smoothly while maintaining good temps!
Now, my question is, is there a motherboard schematic or manual where I can find linking for mini-DP or HDMI? I want to figure out if mini-DP is connected to iGPU(HD 630) or dGPU(RTX)
I know for sure that HDMI is linked to dGPU cos that's the cable I have and used with my monitor and it shows intel HD 630 for my laptop's display and RTX 2070 Max-Q for my external monitor. However, I want to be able to use iGPU for external display via mini-DisplayPort, but before placing an order for the cable I wanted to make sure it would work as intended. Can anyone here tell me if they know if mini-DP is hardwired to dGPU or not?
Would appreciate it a lot if someone can provide a motherboard schematic or some sort of service manual that has detailed information about it.
Thanks in advance!

deadlyghost the dp and hdmi ports should be both always directly connected to the dgpu as thats the main purpose to support displays with higher resolutions (120/144/240hz) only the internal display uses the igpu dunno if theres any options in the bios that would allow any changes regarding that

There's nothing in the bios to change the way Optimus works (assuming you're talking about a MUX switch).
So both are directly connected to the dGPU? Well that's a bummer, anyway thanks for answering so quickly!

Until your Dedicated RTX 2070 Max-Q Graphics has a strong enough load demand upon it, the HD 630 will be applied. However, you can try switching the Profile in PREDATOR SENSE from Normal to Extreme in the Overclock area as that may apply enough demand to switch from HD 630 to your RTX 2070.
Also could try running a continuous loop Benchmarking program which will cause the RTX 2070 to be used. You would think it be automatic providing you are plugging into a 4K monitor.

Scottyat5 what the OP wants it to use the IGPU on external display which that seems to me impossible since both ports are directly connected to the DGPU  and the internal display to the IGPU i think you miss understood the situation here  because your answer was more to how to use the DGPU and thats not an issue here its the exact opposite
