How do I add an SSD to an Acer ES1-132-C8WF?

I have done a lot of searching both on this website and the rest of the internet and it is suggested it is possible to add an SSD to this laptop and then move the OS over to it to Boot from that instead of the eMMC that the Laptop comes with.

I bought a WD Green WDS240G0A internal Sata SSD alongside the following cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07V37WT67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

When I first attached the cable and went into BIOS it would see the SSD in BIOS but now it doesn't. The Laptop has not seen the SSD in Disk Manager or Device Manager in Windows 10 at any point. There has sometimes been an uninitialised disk in Disk Manager but trying to initialise this doesn't work.

I am at a complete loss over what to do. I have tried steps on from other peoples posts but these do not work.

Have a look at this Acer Community post "Putting SSD into Aspire ES1-132-C8WF" here: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/588702/putting-ssd-into-aspire-es1-132-c8wf it explains exactly how to do it. I would suggest that you buy a Samsung SSD and use their "Data Migration" software to clone Win-10 as its the easiest and best way to clone OP's, also, the Samsung 2.5" SSD's are the best and most reliable around. Btw, I don't work for Samsung and/or gain anything from telling you this, this is my advice from my extensive experience with Samsung SSD's. Good luck!

Thanks. I’ll have a read through this now.

I think with a little help from my brother it’s become clear I may have got a faulty SSD. So I’ve ordered a new one and will return the first one.
