After a Bios Update my laptop is not Working

Hi acer community.

After a bios update my laptop acer ( aspire 5 - a517-51g) is not working.  It stay still in a black windows after the acer's logo.  And that is all it does.

My laptop was presenting some performance issues and because of it a performance the update. 

Any ideas will be apprecite.

    The jumper is on the lower left side of the RAM socket. Disconnect battery pack and CMOS cell before shorting jumper for about 30 seconds. Jack E/NJ

    Press and hold power button till the machine completely shuts off. Then press and hold the F2 key followed by pressing the power button to turn the machine back on. The BIOS menu should appear. Please post  a phone photo of the  BIOS Information and Boot tabs if possible. Jack E/NJ

    It does'nt work.  The computer stay in the same black screen.

    is it possible to clear de cmos in this laptop.  ?  Maybe switching some jumpers or removing the internal battery..

    @JhonyTrujillo turn off your laptop by holding power button.
    Turn on your laptop then immediately keep pressing F2 key you will boot in bios now try to reset bios settings then save and exit

    Exactly. I dont see a bios menu.  I just saw for a few seconds the acer logo and after that a black screen with a cursor in the left side of the windows.

    i opened the laptop searching for jumpers or switches .. but nothing.  Even i disconnect the internal battery of the laptop and nothing. The problem remains.

    I followed your instrucctions and now my laptop is working again. 

    it is what i did:

    - Disconnected the internal battery.
    - Disconnected the cmos battery. 
    - I waited for about 5 minutes.
    - Connected the internal battery and the cmos battery
    - Turned On the computer

    Hi Guys,

    I have a laptop with model V5-571G i have upgraded my bios from 1.21 to 2.18 but after this my laptop is suffering from graphic drivers issues and it is unable to install any graphic driver like NVIDIA or Intel

    Sorry, your legacy BIOS chip has apparently been corrupted by trying to install firmware meant for a UEFI BIOS chip. The chip will probably have to be re-programmed or re-placed with a pre-programmed chip.

    Unless you have a BIOS programmer and know how to use it, It's probably best to take the laptop to an authorized ACER service center in your country if you want to try to re-program the chip. You could probably replace the chip yourself with a preprogrammed chip (about $20) but would require disassembly and a pencil-tip soldering tool.
