Hi,

I am a proud owner of Acer Nitro 5 an515-52, I bought this baby almost 2 years ago.

Over the course of time I have undervolted it had it repasted with arctic silver 5 undervolted gpu so on,

I have never been able to run the cpu at max 4.0 ghz the best I've been able to do is today I was able to play GTA V with 3.3 Ghz because I uv my GPU which allowed my CPU to run cooler.

I am also attaching a screenshot of throttlestop to better explain the situation below
As you can see the last 2 cores seem to run 6-9 degrees hotter, this forces me to not use the laptop to it's maximum potential as going 4.0 Ghz and gaming will throttle the CPU and eventually give me BSOD because of overheating.

Can anyone help me and point me in the direciton of what I should be doing to fix this?

Thanks

    Thanks for your response

As I understand reading both the links you sent (forgive me I am not technically proficient enough to understand the plundervolt.com article) this issue started after windows 1909 update however I have been having the issue since 1803. Could it just be a bad repaste job cause I remember recognising the issue after the repaste. (the repaste did bring the temps down though)

    Yes,New window update 1903 and 1909

Microsoft very useless feature that locks 2 cores on turbo boost at all times even on idle and parking the remaining to when needed only this causes really high temps

Ignore this if you are getting less then 90°C(check nitrosense) while gaming.

FearlessNewB u can thank microsoft for the very useless feature its to them u have to complain about the 2 cores only working at max turbo a all times thats why im still on 1809 with updates disabled and not moving up :) good luck and if it would be a bad repaste and youre still on 1803 (worst windows 10 build) theres no way you would have that happening you would have all cores on high temps u cant repaste only one core or 2 the diode doesnt separate the cores
