Hello I have the Nitro AN515-43 acer laptop. Apparently it has 2x 8b ram but its still only single channel ram. Is there a way to make it dual channel? I thought if it has 2x ram its then dual channel. Is dual channel not supported?

    Hi,
Could you please post the model name/number of the memory modules, have you checked with CPU-z?

    Hi,
Memory tab will show you whether your memory works at dual channel or single channel.

So you have only one RAM module which is 16GB and not 2x8. One module can`t operate in dual channel mode. You have to get one more with the same specs and speed in order to have dual channel.

okay *****. I bought it from a shop called officeworks they must have scammed me. On their website it had said 2x 8gb lol. Is there much of a performance increase with dual channel?

Well, there is but don`t expect miracles. You can use it for now and some time in the future you can get another stick, or you can go to the shop and tell them that you are feeling scamed and either to replace the RAM for 2x8gb or get a discount for 16gb module.

ok well i think its all in my head some ocd idk i just keep hearing people talk about dual this dual that like its needed. Every game I have tried runs pretty okay. I tried mortal kombat 11 perfect 60 fps at medium-high settings, shadow of the tomb raider I can get 60 fps if I lower the res then i can max the graphics, dragonquest builders 2 runs pretty good 50 average fps. I know its just a laptop and not the best so i don't expect everything to run perfect lol

Does it have to be the exact same ram model, size, etc?

Only the brand could be not the same, but the CL, speed and the amount have to be the same.
