Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone knows how to overclock an i7-2600(non-K) version on a G5910 mobo as I plan on getting either a GTX 1660 Super or GTX 1660 TI.
Also by how much can i OC it to (i.e.: 4.2ghz?) and what aftermarket cooler do I need? (I.e. : https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/cpu-air-coolers/hyper-212-evo/#?)

Thanks!

It's recommended to not try overclocking the i7-2600 processor. You can have real heat issues if you can get ti to do anything.

    Hi Billsey,

That is why I decided to purchase a CM hyper 212 EVO.
I believe my g5910 is too old now and its time to change, that's why I decided to try OC it.
Do you have any idea how?

    Thanks

Not really, a successful overclock on that machine is liable to be nearly as expensive as buying a low end gaming rig that's new. Better to save up a bit and go for one of the new systems, perhaps Predator Orion series?

I did not overclock but did some stress testing on prime 95 and realized that my multiplier never went to 38. It only went up to 35 max.
I guess Acer must have done some hidden underclocking on their end lol
