  • @enjoythesilence We have no way of knowing the type of thermal compound Acer uses. However, some users have reported that replacing the thermal paste solves the problem of overheating.

Please share the settings for my configuration. :'( I am desperate, 90-95 degrees in Modern Warfare and crazy noise.

If optimizing windows and undervolt it's not working you need to repaste it with kryonaut or similar if you can yourself without voiding your warranty or send it back to get it repasted with stock paste
    yes, as you said before)
I bought a laptop 1 month ago, it is still new. Its cost is $ 2600, I really doubt that thermal grease will help.
But if this is so, then why didn't the manufacturer take care of it? A device of this class in my humble opinion should not need anything after the purchase.
Or I made a mistake in choosing a device((
enjoythesilence  All manufacturers use cheap thermal paste its not just acer they have to cut something somewhere unfortunately its how it works doesnt matter if u spend more or less its the same stock paste on all devices if u want the best performance temp wise the best solution its always to repaste it yourself with kryonaut or similar if u can without voiding your warranty otherwise theres nothing else u can do unless the service centre agrees to use the thermal paste you would provide (in some countries like India for ex they allow it they even send the engineer to your house to do it) no  matter which manufacturer you go for u will always have the same thermal issues also cod its not properly optimized everyone is having thermal issues even on desktops thats a devs fault no any manufacturer to test your temps properly use a properly optimized AAA game

PS: after all a gaming laptop its a desktop squeezed in a small confined space also if you build a desktop surely you would use the best thermal paste or even water cooling same with laptops its up to us the end user to tweak them to get the best performance out of in some manufacturers clock the down to lower the temps which will work but you wont get the full performance from it thats not a real solution u end up by paying the full price but with downgraded performance when others like acer will always give u the full performance on any device which or course will have in most situations thermal throttling that can be easily fixed/tweaked

  • @xapimExactly. I agree with everything you said! Now, I think that all manufacturers should take into consideration, which is better for the user. Also, what is more expensive? Use a thermal paste with more quality? Or to have the user return the equipment to the seller or the repair center, on the grounds that there is overheating? In my opinion, I think that all manufacturers should use a thermal paste of better quality. This would avoid hassles and problems with overheating, as users cannot simply change the thermal paste because of the warranty.

Well the issue is that even if you send it back they will apply the same stock paste 😁 so the issue will be the same and sometimes it's worse due to bad applications

@xapim I had done repaste at Acer Service Center using my own Kyronaut paste. Now in testing the temp drop or not.
I got another question about Predator Sense, after we done game sync, do we still need to switch on the predator sense and minimize it or can it be sync without minimize the app?

Check your bsod error if any also u need to optimize your windows properly crashing can be due to many things from undervolting not working at all and needing repasting from to too much undervolt (all depends on the bsod error) even the same exact cpu won't behave the same way its the silicone lottery

I used the configuration for 9750H and while it seriously helped with the temperatures, it also caused an FPS drop of 7-10 across the board. What settings could be the cause of the drop? EPP or the clock speed limits for when 6 cores are active etc? Using the Helios 300 2019 with 1660ti.

I have a ph315-52 with Nvidia 1060 Ti.. I want to underclock the cpu and the GPU..  What is the best programs to do this? or the most proper official way to do it?  For example I see they use throttle stop here, but I know of Nvidia Inspector and XTU from intel.. So why would I Use throttlestop over the other 2 programs that are literally made for Intel CPU and Nvidia Graphics cards??

    thanks.

Napkins Nvidia 1060ti doenst exist u should have a 1660ti to undervolt the cpu get the conf for your cpu in the first post for the gpu theres not anything yet as far as im aware but u can follow the hotel hero youtube channel in my signature and start with the 1060 msi undervolting curve and go from there to keep tweaking it also dont forget to optimize your windows properly and keep the back lifted at all times 2/3 inches for a proper airflow

@xapim Yeah sorry, it is a 1660, ha.

So I will check out some of your stuff, but essentially what I mean is, look at my picture here, You can underclock your GPU with a of different programs, but wondering if anyone here knew anything more of which one was more efficient and has less problems or made more properly for my specific card etc..

For example, look, here is some tips with a few programs named, the 2nd picture is Nvidia Inspector, and the 3rd picture is XTU for undervolting the Intel CPU which is a program actually made by intel themselves..

So I was wondering what do people use on Asus Predators to underclock the speed of the GPU?  I know I can go into the Windows Settings and turn the max CPU % down to 97 or lower in the Power settings, but what about the GPU etc..

Hope this makes my question a little more clear.

    thanks.

edit: also, i've been using this for two days now paired with +155 core and +475 memory on afterburner
    Hello
It is unreachable, can you please upload it or is there any update for 9300H?

erotero acer community doesnt officially support external links use it at your own risk plus theres no conf for the 9300h because @Red-Sand didnt had anyone to borrow or let him access any device with that particular cpu so he could create a tested conf so anything not tested personally by him its not verified if you dont want to risk external links use the previous gen conf and keep tweaking it manually yourself

I dont recommend xtu to undervolt its just garbage full of bugs and will conflict with the already xtu service included in PS use ts instead also its not my stuff i dont have any credit whatsoever on any you can check my signature all credits are his.

Also Predator its not from Asus (they wish their own brands would be so good performance wise) lol and for the gpu its msi aferburner always u just need to have a base curve to start with and play with the settings yourself because until someone tests it properly and come up with a tested working undervolt curve for your own gpu there wont be anything available also i havent seen anyone wanting to undervolt the 1660ti yet when they cant drop the temps down after optimizing and undervolting the cpu they usually repaste it with kryonaut or similar if they can without voiding the warranty

@xapim Ok, thank you for the responses. I have joined your groups and will try to use TS instead of XTU or Nvidia Inspector or other programs like that.

I'm sorry for all the questions but my final question is :

In predator sense, I have my fans set to MAX, but what do I do with "cool boost"?  Since I have my fans at "max" setting already am I supposed to have coolboost on or off alongside with the "max fan speed" setting?

    thanks..

Napkins u should use the fans on auto coolbost on (depending on your temps) :) coolbost wont work with fans on max neither manual settings also bare in mind that in some cases optimizing windows and undervolting makes no effect only a repaste with a proper thermal paste like kryonaut oe similar would fix the issue its the silicone lottery

Bertanx you will always have some fps drops when undervolting in order to lower the temps its the downside of undervolting to get lower temps sacrificing some fps or not undervolting and thermal throttling which will cause major fps drops

I understand. It's just that when I was using the default throttlestop profile for 9750H (when you download the program for the first time from the techpowerup website) and only changed the voltage offsets for core and cache, I did not suffer any FPS drops. It is only when I used the config here that this happened. So I am trying to understand what could have caused the difference. Maybe the speedshift being at 114? Or max clock speed being 3.6 GHz when all cores are active? Or the "non turbo ratio being 0? I was just looking for pointers.

Try to do the same and compare the confs to see where the differences are just bare in mind to reset ts to defaults u have to turn it off delete the conf and shutdown not restart then load bios setup defaults
