4gb 2666mhz RAM and 8gb 2400mhz RAM. Is it okay to combine the two?

i just bought an Acer Nitro 5 with 4gb 2666mhz RAM. I honestly don’t know anything about specs and all since I’m a girl and Im just starting to learn about this stuff. I bought another 8gb RAM but I just found out it’s only 2400mhz. Is it still compatible or is there anything that could go wrong with that? Thank you.

    Hi,
Could you please post the full model name, like AN515-xx, it's better to buy memory modules with same specs, however, if you mix 2400MHz module with a 2666MHz module, the system will run at 2400MHz, so if the module doesn't work, you may have to return 2400MHz module and get another same size and same speed(2666MHz) module(4GB) as your original RAM to install.

Hi! Thank you for answering. I have AN515-52. I tried to return but since it's quarantine, they only have the 2400MHz as stock and don't know when they will restock again.

No problem, the module is compatible, the original module will downclock to 2400MHz, apart from that it won't damage the laptop, if you have any problems when you install the 8GB in the second slot, remove the original 4GB module and install the 8GB module.
