i was playing AC odyssey , and in 15 mins i got a BSOD the fan settings were max .it happens with witcher 3 , origins and even HALO CE , ive brought up the issue about CPU heating on idle when the AC power is on , now unless i switch on the air conditioner it just overheats. i keep ample distance between the intake and the platform i keep my laptop on . the cpu temps reach 70-80 on idle with max fan on predetor sense . and while gaming it  crosses 95 and BSODs . i was told before that CPU temps reach high during gaming but this is unacceptable. it should not go that high just because i plug in the charger

2root2 as i always say do not let windows update any drivers/firmware or completely disable the updates to avoid any issues they screw up more than they fix only update what u need when needed if its not broken dont try to fix it also since you have found the solution yourself mark your own answer as solved so everyone with similar issues may be able to find it quickly  :)

    hold up
you have 70+ °C when idle with fans on max?!
get in contact with acer support
    you need a repaste

if you are a little tech savvy you can undervolt with XTU
Undervolting reduces to voltage applied to the cpu and thus the power. Power = Heat
You can get it a little cooler but thats still fixing the symptoms and not the cause of the problem

now that i reset windows , its telling me my windows is not activated . can you believe this ? the audacity of microsoft selling such broken software and the forums tell me ways to fix it. but those are user fixes , none by the company itself .

If you have linked a microsoft account earlier before reinstall, you can link your account now and get it activated

    winver 1909 build 18363.1082 . idle temps now 40C , 40C , 38C (cpu,gpu,sys) without ac power , 45-50C,40-50C,40-45C (cpu,gpu,sys) on ac power on idle . goes over 70 only when gaming .  its been charging for a while now .
PS: i have noticed the cpu temps spike when i use monitoring tab of predator sense . the cpu usage spikes as well

Just try removing that one update. That will tell you if that was really the problem.
