Hi there. I have an Acer nitro 5 AN515-54-51M5 that initially came with an 8gb single rank DDR4-2666 SODIMM memory module. I wanted to upgrade my ram so I got a 16gb stick of the same specs except this one is Dual Rank.
i put the new 16 GB stick in my second RAM slot and booted up the laptop and it doesn’t show in system information OR Dxdiag. It says I only have 8gbs of physical installed memory. I ran CPU-Z from CPUID but it shows that I have 24 gigs of RAM in there. It’s really confusing. Just to make sure it isn’t the RAM stick that’s bad, I took out the 8gb module and put the new 16gb module in the first slot and kept the second slot empty, and now it shows that I have 16 gigs of physical memory! Which means that the RAM stick isn’t faulty. I desperately need some help because I’m in the US and I’m going to Bangladesh next week and I need to have it sorted fast.

Nvm I tried switching the Modules a couple times and reinserting then firmly and now it works. My bad. It took me two boots for the laptop to recognise a new NVME SSD I got too so I guess that’s what probably the case was
