Why the hinge issue hasn't been fixed yet?

I have an Acer F5 573G laptop and my left hinge broke recently. I was reading in this forum, and in other places, that many people have had similar complaints. I understand that Acer had done a lot of research and improvement to their products over the past 20+ years - I don't understand why the hinge issue hasn't been fixed yet?
To ACER Support: could you please send me a replacement cover and hinges, so I can fix your faulty product. Don't let an issue like that damage your reputation. Thanks.

First, your Acer F5 573G is way out of warranty, these hinges and bottom top cases are a consumable product, some people open and close their laptops more tan others. Its impossible for a manufacturer to warranty a part like a hinge and case forever. Hence and that  is why you have to replace either the hinge or the case or both.

This has happened to me and I had to change the bottom case on both an Aspire 5750-2414 and an V3-571G as they both suffered from bottom case plastic fatigue and as soon as I opened the case of these laptops, the hinge mounting screws just completely came away from their mountings points and broke.

Steven, thanks for replying. Don't you agree that brand name manufacturers like Acer etc. should use a better quality plastic and design as to avoid such problems? Otherwise why would people buy from brand names, if the quality is the same as a no-name manufacturer that sells the similar products way cheaper?

Anyway, do you happen to know what size screws do I need for the hinges (model E5-573G 58XS)?

The issue isn't really with the hinge design, the issue is the method most people use to open the laptop. Typically you open with one hand on one corner, which puts side torque on the opposite hinge. Over time that causes the hinge mechanism to loosen until it gets just sloppy enough to bind, and that is what causes the break. If you open from the center instead of one side it'll help a lot and opening with both hands, one on each side would likely cause it to never happen. To design a hinge that wouldn't break through five years or so of use would likely require some sort of bearing arrangement to minimize tension on the hinge and then some other mechanism to keep it from falling closed and I'd expect the first thing to fail would be that tensioner. :) It's actually a problem with all manufacturers, most evident when a laptop is either kept for a long time or used and abused...

I wish Acer engineers read your explanations and find a solution. This problem is showing up over and over again. And if they do, Acer would become a leading brand, since other brands as you mentioned had been failing so badly in the same spot.
