CPU overheating after repasting but only when plugged into a charger

Hi everyone. I repasted my computer for the first time and have an issue with the cpu heating up. I have predator helios 500 and thought of cleaning up the fans as well as repasting the cpu and gpu. After the finishing the process, CPU goes up to 97 °C when plugging a charger to my laptop only when opening chrome browser, which wasn't happening before. It's weird as it works fine when not plugged in to the charger. What could be causing the issue? Have I damaged the battery when disassembling the laptop?

Check if the paste is not enough and if the heatsink is fitted well.

Thanks @batmalin for your advice. I repasted and I think the heatsink is fitted well. The computer still behaves the same

I might do just that. Do you think this could have something to do with BIOS settings?

I doubt, but just in case perform the steps below:

Click the Start Button and type cmd
Right-click the result and select Run as administrator
Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal (ALT: bcdedit /set safeboot minimal)
Restart the computer and enter BIOS Setup
Change the SATA Operation mode to AHCI from either IDE, RAID or RST with optane. Only if no option in BIOS present - Go to BIOS screen, move to Main tab, press Ctrl+S buttons together, press F10 to save and exit, AHCI option should be available in Main tab.
Save changes and exit Setup and Windows will automatically boot to Safe Mode.
Right-click the Windows Start Menu once more. Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot (ALT: bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot)
Reboot once more and Windows will automatically start in AHCI Mode

Oh, thanks. Is this process reversible? I am wondering just in case something goes wrong.

It is but what for? Do you use raid or optane?

Do you have 2 or more disks in array? I assume no so you don`t need that option anyway. It is full of bugs in the first place, search here RST and look how many issues with dissapearing drives you can find.

I have just one disk so I will probably skip that option. I found a workaround for this problem. That was to set the maximum processor state to 99% instead of 100% in the Advanced Power options. That makes the cpu cool although the power of it drops dramatically. So when it's on 100% the processor runs at around 3.7 Ghz and when on 99% only at 2.7 Ghz. Is this normal? Or is it still better to send it to be checked out in the acer service?

Could have me taking out the battery and putting it back, reset the power setting in Windows? That's why I never saw the CPU going so hot? I could have been in "Power Saver" all this time so this would explain this problem I'm having.
