VG270bmiix has inconsistent black bars even for the same model

I have two VG270 bmiix screens that were manufactured in November 2018 and May 2019 respectively. The black borders around the screens are inconsistent despite both screens being the same model.

May 2019 screen on the left and November 2018 screen on the right. Both screens were displaying from Nvidia devices, swapped devices between the screens to eliminate the graphics cards settings being the cause of the different screen sizes. Both screens are using factory settings and running on 1920 x 1080 native resolution

Things that I've tried so far:
- adjusting the screen with the Nvidia control panel, different resolutions.
- different screen settings

Anyone else have this problem?

Have you placed the screens against each other? My second screen has a bigger black border but the screen, the plastic casing itself is actually 5 mm bigger. It's the exact same model, only one is from December 2018, the second one from January 2020
