My laptop Acer Helios 300 (Predator PH315-51) shuts after 15-20 mins of gaming and it takes laptop around 20 mins to restart and also when it finally decides to boot it takes multiple tries for the laptop to actually boot... I just couldn't find a solution .. I have cleaned the laptop fans repasted my CPU and GPU 3 times with artic MX-4 till now.. my temps max to 80c with CPU and 70 with GPU ... and no luck and also there are no minidump or memory file created when my laptop shuts down ...

Do you have the correct drivers installed for the GPU? Don't let Windows 10 Install them automatically.
    follow my steps

1st download DDU(Display driver uninstaller) and download nvidia game ready driver latest software.

Download nvidia software from link select your gpu details and go ahead make sure your download notebook gpu driver when selecting product series.
    https://www.nvidia.in/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-in

Save nvdia software in download folder and move ddu program in desktop, now boot in safe mode run ddu program→select gpu→clean and restart→yes
After uninstalling you will boot in normal mode then immediately turn off your Ethernet or wifi and disable antivirus, if you install any antivirus disable it if not then go to settings→turn off real time protection

Now install nvidia software after installation restart your laptop and turn on your antivirus

Try to unplug your laptop's AC, and run a game for as long as your battery allows and tell me if it does shutdown while the AC is unplugged.

I did and it works fine without charging for about 40 mins .. major frame drops but it worked fine

Oh well my friend we have the exact same issue then xD
I am also waiting for our saviour to come and deliver us with at least some explanation about why it doesn't work.

Personnaly i think it's related to the battery and the power supply or / and the cpu/gpu consumption. But i have no further clue.

Here is my post describing the weird behaviour of cpu / gpu consumption with and without AC pluged

When the AC is plugged the cpu and gpu temps automatically go up by a few degrees and their % consumption radically drop down, which makes me wonder maybe there is a problem with the internal battery or the AC. But i am sure of nothing so hold back, and besides that the presented data isn't enough to surely interpolate the root cause of the problem.

i read somewhere that Nvidia supplied some faulty GPU and it affected thousands of customers.. it could be us .. also it could be something related to power supply issue .. because if it was bios or drivers we would have encountered BSOD and should have created minidumps..btw have you checked your event viewer ?? also bro i have tried hard reset my SSD and it did no good

Yeah i did check my event listener nothing relevant in there, it only says windows interupted without notice. There is no minidumps too after it shutsdows. So yeah i do agree it's not related to drivers issues, it's prob related to hardware issues. The fact that it works while unpluged from the AC point to the battery. So yeah , i really hope someone could lighten us about this issue.

I am going to follow the instruction that they told me in the other post. I think it actually could really help debuging and finding the root cause of the problem. I'll keep you informed bro. If the problem comes from the AC or the dcin jack cable i'll let you know as soon as possible. Wish you good luck, and if you find something keep me informed too!
