Hey guys, I have an Acer A515-52-57BY and it has started having issues with the touchpad, in that it works fine for a while and all of a sudden it becomes erratic and jumps all over the screen.

If I try and persevere, then over the next little while it seems to get worse and worse until I have to restart Windows, then it seems to settle for a while before starting jumping again.

Very frustrating!

I have tried updating the drivers, but Windows says I am already using the latest driver.

I have researched this extensively by searching Google, wading through forum posts, watching videos on Youtube etc, and have tried multiple solutions that people are suggesting, i.e. adjust touchpad sensitivity etc, but nothing is working.

I have ended up buying a wifi mouse just so I can get through a couple of straight hours using the laptop without having to restart.

Ideally I want to get into the BIOS and check for ways of changing settings in there, but I can't access the BIOS due to another issue I am having with this darn laptop, (which I have already sought advice on in here, just waiting on replies now...)

Is anybody else having this issue? Please tell me I'm not the only one! Any and all help appreciated.

You have tried most of the step but still you have the issue. May be you can try once but doing a reset, but it will wipe off all data and application you installed. So if you want you can take a back up off the data and try reset and check

Thanks Jack22 but I am hoping for a way through this without a reset, there is just too much work and time involved and I need this laptop for my work, and I can't afford to have it offline.

Anybody else have an idea that doesn't involve resetting?

FN+F7 or F7 turn off and on the touchpad. So did you try to turning it off and turn it back on ??
