Laptop was working fine last night. I turned it off at regular time and today when I tried turning it on, nothing happened?

So this laptop does have water damage. But it was from 1.5 years ago and the only thing that was damaged was the f and f key no longer working. That was it. Could this have being the cause?

I tried plugging my external Corsair keyboard in, and it still lights up when plug into the laptop. When the power adapter is plugged in, it's still blue.

What should I do?

Liquid spill is always a critical issue on laptops, than could be one of the thing.
But try the below step if the laptop has a battery pin hole at the back of it.
Power drain: First turn off the laptop and unplug the charger, Look at the back of your laptop and you can see a small pin hole. Put a paper clip inside the pinhole, press and hold the paper clip for 40 seconds.Make sure when you press and hold the paper clip you will feel like pressing on to a button inside the pin hole.Than try to power on the laptop and check.

  • What is the exact model? Example AN515-51-75KZ. Did water get on the keyboard and you haven't repaired it for 1.5 years?

Yeah I didn't bother since everything else worked and I got an external Corsair keyboard. I didn't think it was a big deal since it was two keys, and it's being so long.

I just tried the battery reset with the pin hole. But when I plugged the charger back in, it was still blue, and the laptop didn't turn on either.

could be hardware, so its better to check with any local tech.

But isn't the light suppose to turn orange instead of blue since the battery should be dead? Instead it was blue?

If the battery on the laptop is full and than you connect a working charger it will show blue light. Some times the laptop will show blue light when not connected to charger but still there will be no display. so now after the power drain, just turn on the laptop and check whether there is any light coming up(please check without connecting the charger).

I got the laptop back and running!!! Was not expecting that at all. I pressed the pin again, this time for a whole 60 seconds. Pressed the power button without plugging in the power adapter and it's working!

    Thank you so much!

Just curious, is this a common thing with gaming laptops? If so, how do I avoid it in the future?

  • In my opinion, even if the notebook is working, you should replace the keyboard and check for any corrosion on the motherboard. You should have done this check 1.5 years ago.

So the problem is back in today. I tried to turn the laptop on in the morning and nothing would work. I tried the battery hole again, held it for a full 60 seconds, and that didn't work as well. I tried pressing the power button a bunch of times, and then just randomly plugged in the battery charger, pressed it a few times, nothing happened. I finally just held the power button, and the laptop started working as usual.

It's working fine right now but I'm worried that when I turn it off tonight, I'll have the same problem tomorrow morning, or that the laptop won't turn on this time.

    What should I do?

The problem is back, sadly I can't bring my laptop to any shop due to covid19. I posted the new problem above. Do you think there is anything I can do?
  • The only option is to check with another keyboard and check if water has come in contact with the motherboard.
