ACER NITRO 5 + ACER Monitor = Input not supported

So I have this acer nitro 5 laptop and im trying  to connect it with my acer monitor, and it just display "input not supported" can somebody please help me? Thanks!

    @batmalin VGA to vga cord +Vga to hdmi cord.

    Did you check the if hdmi port of the laptop is working like with hdmi to hdmi cable and tv/monitor?

    In the hdmi to vga adapter unless you have not checked if the monitor is functional

    In my case, I had the same problem. I fixed it by unplugging the adapter from the monitor cord.

    My adapter sits between the VGA monitor cord (with the blue plug) and my laptop. It also has it's own USB connection. I unplugged the adapter from the laptop several times but it didn't work. Unplugging the blue VGA monitor cord from the adapter reset something that returned me to the right resolution.
