Power Charger Constantly Disconnecting & Reconnecting (G3-571)

So about 5 hours ago my Laptop (G3-571) started making beeping sounds through the speaker/headset and after looking into it I found that the issue was related the power cable connecting and reconnecting. I've checked if anything was loose with the powercord and plugs, checked if anything was bent in the laptop power socket(?), and I even changed which outlet was used in my room, but nothing changed so it seems that the issue is either with the cord itself or the laptop.

Anyone have some suggestions for how to solve this issue, or at least how to check for what might be wrong?

I don't have access to one of those currently but i've noticed that i don't get the disconnecting/reconnecting if the battery isn't full. If I let the battery drain down a bit and plug it back in it won't beep until it gets back up into the 90%+ range (testing for a second time soon).

In this case, check the battery status with hwinfo64.

See that there is a wear of almost 30%. I recommend that you try to calibrate the battery.

accidentally clicked on answered to your url sorry, still trying some things out

Here are some updates.

- The battery is now displayed as 14% Wear Level (in hwinfo64 as well, and batterycare) at 100% charge
- I cannot find any calibration options in the bios (f2)
- The software suggested is behind a paywall it seems (last resort), checking a few other programs.
- Not sure if the times iv let the battery run out is what changed the estimated wear level or not, I assume that means progress?
- Extra information, about 99.9% of the time that my laptop is in use it's been plugged into the wall.

Due to the use of the battery, it is normal that it is out of calibration and does not show the percentage of wear correctly. After calibrating the battery, does the beep problem still occur?

i'm not sure if it's calibrated, but it was still making beeps before i unplugged it it awhile ago, currently charging it back up from empty.

At this point i'm just letting it drain and charge over and over again from empty to 100% with those power settings, not sure if if it's even calibrating properly or at all.

OK! First discharge the battery completely, disabling the suspension, turning off the hdd and the display in the power options. Then, let the battery charge up to 100% with the notebook turned off.

the issue seems to have been fixed! I recharged laptop while it was shut off over night from empty to full and haven't had the issue since.

Aaaaannd it started happening again, was fine for most of the day, hooked my power cord back to its original outlet and 20min afterwards it starts doing it.
