Acer Nitro XV340CK Monitor - Audio from built-in speakers randomly cuts out for a couple seconds

See title. It is connected via DisplayPort from a Radeon RX 570. There is also a 2nd monitor connected via DVI. When playing audio through the built in speaker, the audio will cut completely out to zero volume and then come back about two seconds later. Others on reddit have posted about this problem as well.

Setup: Win10, latest Radeon and audio drivers. I did try updating the drivers with no improvement.0

Same issue here. Connected via Display Port to a GeForce GTX 1060. Windows 10 with the latest nVidia drivers. Freesync enabled on monitor and gSync compatibility enabled on the driver side, if that matters.

Same issue. Every 10-15 minutes, sound drops out for 1-2 seconds while gaming. Graphics card is a RTX 2070 with all updated Nvidia drivers. Freesync enabled on monitor with Gsync compatibility on in Nvidia control panel.0

Does Acer Support ever read this forum or is it just for users to figure out how to fix things?
Also, has anyone been able to get thru to Acer support via the phone? I can't seem to get anyone to pick up..

I was finally able to get someone on live chat and after suggesting I do a power reset "by removing power from the monitor and pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect the monitor and power it on. " Within 30 seconds of doing so and watching a Youtube video the sound dropped off again and I was told that I should send the monitor in for service. Since I only got this on March 17th I think I'll just go an exchange it at Micro Center and hope for a better experience.
I did mention that this could probably be fixed with a firmware and was told that this is most likely what they would do if I sent my monitor in. I replied that it would be better to just give the public access to an updated firmware since other manufacturers do so. I doubt it will go anywhere but at least the suggestion is out there.

Most of the monitors don't have any way to update firmware without a special fixture...

This one features a USB hub. It would be shockingly short sighted if Acer did not build in a way to flash the firmware by putting a file on a USB key and powering up the monitor with it inserted while holding a specific button combination.

Yeah, most of the ones with a USB hub just have the hub, it's not connected to the monitor motherboard itself, just powered off the same supply.

So as a final update: I exchanged the monitor for another XV340CK which had the exact same issue AND, immediately after I played a couple of hours of Doom Eternal, it developed a line of dead pixels on the right side. That was the final straw for me, I returned it for a refund and picked up an open box Alienware AW3418DW. I know it doesn't have speakers but since I was resigned to using external ones on the XV340CK this isn't an issue for me anymore.

Another final update: I recently did a PC upgrade, replaced my motherboard, CPU, RAM. kept the same video card and OS (Win10 Pro). The problem has vanished. I don't really get it since it's the same OS, Driver version, and video card (sending the audio signal), but obviously there was something in the previous combination causing it. I did have the same issue whether connecting the monitor via DP or HDMI.
For anyone wondering, here's the old config that had the issue:
MSI Z97-G45 GAMING motherboard
Intel core i5-4590
16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600
Powercolor Radeon RX570 (Red Devil)
eVGA Supernova 650 G2 powersupply
Radeon Driver ver 20.41
Win10 pro
And the new config with no audio issue:
Asus ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming
Ryzen 5 3600
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX
Powercolor Radeon RX570 (Red Devil)
eVGA Supernova 650 G2 powersupply
Radeon Driver ver 20.41
Win10 pro
