How can I replace the chassis fans of Predator Orion 3000 (PO3-600)?

My Orion 3000 has just arrived. The machine looks good and runs fast. But I am concerned about the fan noise. The bearings or the blades of the front/rear fans emit mechanical noise that makes me feel uncomfortable. I looked into the machine, and it seems that the front/rear fans don't connect directly to the chassis fan slot of the motherboard. If I replace the front/rear fans with third-party PWM fans, what size (diameter) should I use? And how can I connect the new PWM chassis fans to the motherboard or power supply unit?

Intel i7-9700 + Nvidia RTX 2060 + 16GB RAM

Is your Orion 3000 new and under warranty? If it is then don't open it, take it back to an Acer Service Centre and get them to fix this problem, otherwise you will forfeit your warranty! Otherwise, change the fan with a better case fan e.g. Corsair ML Pro LED, RGB (120mm,140mm) or a Corsair Air Series AF120 – LED High Airflow Fan (Quiet Edition) or a Noctua NF-F12 PWM Chroma x, as these are the best case fans around and more efficient than the OEM that you have.

It looks to me like the case fans should be connected to the SYS_FAN connector, which is adjacent to the CPU_FAN connector near the edge or the MB near the memory slots. Are yours connected differently? I could potentially see them using a daughter board between that connector and the fans themselves so they could be controlled separately...

Your point should be right. I just know there is something between the chassis fan cables and the SYS_FAN cables, but I cannot see what it is (through the side window) unless I open the chassis. By the way, what size of chassis fans are fit for Orion 3000?

To eliminate noise, if I unplug chassis fan cables, can Orion 3000 still boot successfully (without fan failure)?
I know it is not good to unplug case fans (especially the rear fan); I am just curious about it.

Yes, my Orion 3000 has just come for several days. If I send it to Acer, I guess they will just replace the case fans with the same models?

If I buy PWM case fans by myself, what size should I choose? 80 or 92mm? Some people said 92mm...

Just measure the holes, they should form a square either 80mm or 92mm to a side.

In general, case fans have 12V and 5V versions.

Could you please tell me which version (12V vs. 5V) should I use for Orion 3000?

12V is standard, so I expect that's what is used. It would be really unusual to use a 5V fan in a PC.

I changed the exhaust fan to a 92mm be quiet instead of the 80mm. Do you think this will improve the cooling ?
Is there a way i can control this fan(it has pwm) ? Thanks 🙂

If the fan is connected to the SYS_FAN connector on the motherboard, it should be controlled based on CPU temp. 80mm vs 92mm doesn't change cooling, cooling is changed by different CFMs.
