bought a nitro 5 and picked it up on 4/9. touch pad worked for about a week and stopped all together. windows was downloading a ton of updates and waited that out. checked bios version and looked online for help. everyone said to either update driver or go into bios and switch touchpad to basic. laptop came with 1.13 and there was not option for basic. seen a update on the drivers page and upgraded bios to 1.16 still no option for touchpad. Is there a way to downgrade bios dependably or in dos? tried extracting the bios file and found the platform file to edit. but don't know where to go from there. really don't want to return this laptop.

noticed when extracting 1.12 and below that the bin file is not there.

was able to edit the platform file and drag the .bin file onto the executable and downgrade to 1.13. so far the touchpad is working. but for how long? until windows sends another incompatible update?

thanks to https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/636299/#Comment_636299 I was able to back the bios up to 1.11 and have no plans to update bios again. Acer really should not have removed the touchpad option in the bios and should really look into a fix for the touchpad issues. I now have a touch pad that has worked more than 2-3 hours. Other than this I really like this notebook.
