VR Pre-Purchase Advice needed

I want to watch VR videos and other (non-VR) movies.  I'm using a nice plastic headset that I put my iPhone X Max into.  It works O.K. once I fiddle with placing the smartphone "just so" and choosing a reduced resolution version of the video.  I'm looking at the Oculus Rift S and I'm wondering if I should select the Acer Model Name: GX-281-UR13 Part Number: DG.E0DAA.003 to drive it.  I don't want to spend more than I have to but I do want a solid, reliable experience with less fiddling and at higher resolution and frame rates. I expect to do little or no gaming. I will appreciate any advice on the PC or the headset. Thanks, Dane

I personally would wait a little for the new CPUs and GPUs to be released this year. I would not spend ~1100$ for an outdated PC.
