I have purchased an A515-54G laptop (part no. NX.HMZEX.003), created a Windows 10 install disk, but when I try booting from said install disk, one of three things happen:

1. The system boots into EFI Shell instead of the Windows installer
2. The Windows installer boots, but returns the error code
0xc0000185
3. The Windows installer starts normally, I can select the language, but when I select "Install now", the installer returns "Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer"

I have enabled AHCI mode and disabled Secure Boot. What else can I do?

Try another USB port.  Hit F12 for good measure. Jack E/NJ

Boot from the USB installer. Click troubleshooting advanced section to the X ; \windows\\system32\ command prompt. Enter 'diskpart' . At the Diskpart >  prompt enter 'list disk'. Please post phone photo of result if possible. If not, is both HDD0 and HDD1(USB installer) listed? If yes,  does HDD0 have an asterisk * in the GPT column? Jack E/NJ

Now it won't even allow me to boot from the USB installer. Whenever I select it I just get redirected back to the shell. The USB installer flash drive has been tested and works perfectly on other systems.

Can you still access the BIOS menu with F2 on cold boot? Just to make sure F12 option is enabled. Jack E/NJ

F12 is enabled. I even set the USB drive to have top boot priority. Still no success.

I have figured out what was wrong. All this time I was trying to boot from USB 3.0 ports, but apparently it can only boot from the USB 2.0 port. Thanks for the help!

Congrats. USB3s can be touchy sometimes.  :) Good luck with the rest of the install. Jack E/NJ
