Ya i had the same issue. Computer turn on with lights but no screen display and sent it for repair and they claimed water damage.

Now I'm out 3000 dollars. Thats what I get for choosing ACER

  • Try performing a battery reset. There is a small pin hole on the bottom of the laptop. Take a look at and follow these instructions: https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset

Hi, i just bought a Predator 17 and im having the same issue.  If i close the laptop and it goes to sleep mode, about 50% of the time it wont turn back on but the power button and preset keys are all illuminated red, but nothing else happens. I have to do a hard press power button reset each time.  Did you ever figure out a solution?

Press and hold the power button down for like 10 seconds. This will force turn off the laptop completely.
Also, if you have Windows 10, remove the option of fast reboot in it.

Thanks, this solved the issue for me when my screen would not turn on when I started the laptop!
