I have done the battery reset. And that worked twice to be able to power on the laptop. However now the battery reset trick is not working to eable me to power on his computer. This laptop is not just for gaming. During this crisis with having to shelter in this is my sons only means of contact with the school to receive, complete and submit his assignments so getting this fixed is a high priority.

Is the charging led indicating something? How did you perform the previous battery resets?

Charging led is lit up showing power is being supplied.
Previous battery reset done by holinh power button for 15 seconds while plugged in then disconnecting power cord and allowing to sit for 15 minutes then plugging back in and allowing to charge for a while then pressing and holding the power button as usual to power on. But this method is no longer working. And just FYI the battery was fully charged when we turned off the laptop.

So when you press the power button nothing happes right? Is it still under warranty? If not try to physically disconnect the battery and connect after some time.

It has an internal battery. No way to disconnect it. Thankfully it is still under warranty. But unfortunately best buy isn't taking any new reservations for geeks quad repairs because of the crisis and Acer will probably be a one month (+) fix and return and that is after I ship it to them. All of which are going to cause my son to fall way behind on his school work that can only be don on this device.

Does it have warranty sticker? You can open it if no sticker and disconnect the battery from the MB and connect after some time. I can`t think of anything else at the moment.

I will consider it. But I am very hesitant to do anything to this device tht might run the risk of invalidating my factory warranty and the extra warranty that I paid for. As I mentioned this was a hefty investment for our family to make and there is no way I can afford to by another one to trplace it if they suspect it was tampered with.

I have no other monitors, computers or any other such devices. This is the only "computer" type device in our home besides our phones and samsung smart TV. Besides I know it's not powering on because the backlit keyboard isn't lighting up.

In the meantime. I've thrown caution to the wind and disconnected the battery from the M.B. and am going to wait 15 minutes before reconnecting.

Did you notice any burn signs? Could you please make a picture of the MB and post it here?

Sorry I had already closed it back up before I got back on here and read your photo request. But to answer your question, there were no burn marks or any other indications of hot spots. It was very squeaky clean and pristine looking inside. There was nothing to indicate what the issue is. No burns, blemishes,  residue etc. anywhere inside.
And no this didn't solve it either. Since I've come across others (2 or 3) in my search for answers,  whom have had the same or extremely similar issues. I'm thinking there is an issue with the power button in particular on this model since they have incorporated a feature that requires yhat the power button must be depressed for 5 - 15 seconds in order to power on/off. Possibly an issue with the hardware/software that makes this possible.

Well, the only option (not recommended in any way) is to shorten the pw button to start the laptop, but as stated this could be done by a tech savy. So send it to Acer for repair. Sorry that I couldn`t help.
