No power through AC/DC jack in Acer Predator 17?

I am having issues with my Acer and wondering if anyone can help.

I have an Acer Predator 17 (G9-793-78RV) and the laptop completely lost power one day. When I plug in the adaptor, no battery/power lights are coming on. I did a battery reset with no resolution of the issue. After testing the power supply, it seemed faulty so I purchased a "non Acer" branded power supply with the exact sam specs as the original (19.5V @ 11.8A @ 246Wh) specifically the Delta Electronics ADP-230EB T, but the issue still persists. I removed the internal battery and tried powering using the just the adaptor but still no LED's or power. I managed to find a used battery somewhere online and luckily the battery came pre-charged. Upon replacing the internal battery by advice from a friend, the laptop boots to windows without any issues and everything is fine. Plugging in the adaptor while the laptop is on still shows no power though. Nothing in terms of LED or even a charging symbol in windows. Upon further investigation, I found out that the DC jack on the laptop is 3 prong (positive, negative and "data") and these laptops supposedly only charge when an original Acer charger is detected through the "data"? Is this the case or is the MB faulty in not accepting power from the DC jack?

Have tested the adaptor using a multi-meter and I'm getting the 19.5V through the + and - but not getting anything from the "data" pin.

Any info is much appreciated !

If you have not got a Warranty Void if removed sticker, open the back and check the FFC Power Cable between the AC Jack and the Power board is connected and properly seated

Sorry, already tried this. The connection has been re-seated and look fine. Using a multi-meter I was also able to determine the FFC power cable is not an issue (no resistance between each connector).

Can you test the Power board?

The Service Guide for your model would support your thought that it has to be the original adapter. In most any other service guides there are 3 or 4 compatible tested adapters from different manufacturers but your guide only has one.

I could and I would, but I don't really know what I'm looking for? I know how to check for shorts, but not entirely sure what to check exactly? I can upload photos of the MB if it helps?

Is this service guide public information? I had been searching online for hours to find compatible chargers and couldn't find anything? If this is public info please send me a link. If not then all good.

After a bit of research, the original adaptor is quite expensive. Is there any other testing that I could do to 100% determine the charger is at fault and not the laptop?

Okay! Out of pure curiosity and also to not leave this thread dead without resolution in case someone else is going through the same thing... I have gone ahead and ordered a second hand OEM Chicony Charger (A230A006L with Part#: KP.2300H.001) from ebay for ~$100USD with the exact above specs. Once I receive the charger, I will update this thread with the test results. Fingers crossed!!

I can't believe it! After testing with multiple adapters of the same rating and some of minorily different ratings, I expected the laptop to power up. Even using a brand new 140W universal charger did not work.
