I have the Predator G9-593-71EH , a beautiful 15 inch Laptop with the i7-7700HQ and the GTX1070
I wonder if it would make sense (haha) to update Predator Sense to the latest version from Feb 2020, version 1.00.3012?
What is the difference? And would I have to delete/uninstall the old version first?
Thanks for your help

Unless you start to have adverse Win10 update affects on the current version, doesn't make sense to fix something that isn't busted. Jack E/NJ

I don't have any issues, I was just hoping for a performance boost

In what games or apps Is the performance lacking? In what way? FPS drops? CPU throttling? Jack E/NJ

I would like to get more fps in Fortnite and Overwatch. There is no CPU throttling, I just hoped that the newer version of Predator Sense would allow to overclock a bit more. Maybe that is not the case?

Sorry. FPS is limited by the display not the CPU/GPU. The FHD & UHD display specs for that machine have refresh rates of 25-30ms from the factory. ACER only warrants to about 60Hz at maxrez. You might get a bit more but not by much and not by overclocking the GPU. Jack E/NJ

I connected an external 144Hz Monitor.
It still does not answer my question: does the new predator app allow more overclocking? Are there any other advantages on the new version over the old version?

No. The highest displayport or HDMI output I recall for this model was 120Hz. Jack E/NJ

    Actually I am getting 144Hz using the BenQ ZOWIE XL2730 27" 1440p 144Hz.
it shows I am getting 144Hz in the control panel and on the monitor information. Of course it drops during gaming depending on resolution and game.

Now as much as I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge,
in all your comments your answers have nothing to do with my questions from the initial thread. My question is:

I wonder if it would make sense to update Predator Sense to the latest version from Feb 2020, version 1.00.3012?
What is the difference to the old versions? Any benefits?

Sorry. You're gonna have to try it and see for yourself. I don't have a clue what version you have in there now for comparison from the factory and no way for me to find out. No benefits that I can see on my 78cm but I'm not using a 144Hz-capable external monitor. If you're getting al 144Hz at a decent rez then I don't see any benefits for your's either. Uninstall the one you have in there and install the latest. You can always reset it to factory fresh if you don't like what you see. Jack E/NJ
