How do I choose which laptop to get? (Helios 300, Helios 500, Triton 500, etc.)

Hello. I hope this is an okay question to ask. I've been eyeing the Predator Helios 300 for a bit, but I am always going back and forth between whether I should wait to get the Helios 500 or not. I am by no means an expert on laptops, so I've decided to reach out to the Acer community. I am running a tight budget, but can always save for a few months or so but am in need of a better laptop. I am a pretty serious gamer and mainly play a lot of Minecraft, but also stream a lot of videos and sometimes play intense graphical games like Forza, online games, etc. I'd like to know which laptop I should get. I'm aiming for 300+ FPS on Minecraft and a decent 100 FPS on more graphically intense games. I'd also like the laptop to be easily upgradeable without too much tinkering around. 16GB or more of RAM would be nice and I would like to keep the budget under $2,000; preferably $900-$1,800. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your answer; That was very helpful :) I got once question however: I couldn't find any information on the ASUS Ryzen Zen 2 which confuses me. What would the price/release date be?

Sorry, i just mentioned company and CPU. Actual model is Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 . Here is the link to article https://www.cnet.com/reviews/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-review/ that talks about pricing and availability.

I would suggest you to wait for ryzen zen2 series laptop. Asus has made one having Ryzen 4900hs and it has blown intel out of water and i am pretty sure other companies will soon release an AMD version of line up. AMD zen 2 has better thermals and battery life.
But if you are in hurry, helios 300 is a good choice, if you do not care about weight, battery and thickness of laptop (it is bulkier than triton 500). But it has little better thermals, ram, wifi card, storage and thermal repasting is easier than triton 500.
Triton 500 is the slicker, more like a daily carrying laptop but with few constraints. Motherboard is flipped. Upgrading RAM, Storage and repasting is the most difficult thing. But it has better battery life(82wh). Thermals are good, you are going to stay below 90C on heavy gaming.
Helio 500 has got a little old and it does not justify the price tag anymore.
