I am planning to buy Acer Swift 3 (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/swift3) and planning to use either Manjaro or Ubuntu as primary OS. I am wondering support for linux distribution with this model as seeing many threads on having issues with installing/running linux.

ubuntu, manjaro or any linux distro will work on a swift 3, I have ubuntu running on my sf314-56g.
however you must be aware about your bios settings and how to get some hardware working properly depending how new your swift hardware (e.g. gpu, wifi) is and which distro you want to run.

For example a new wifi module in your laptop will only run on newer linux kernels, and some distros are not installed with this new kernel and you must manually update the kernel or choose for a newer distro. And some devices like fingerprint readers will likely not yet be supported by any linux distro.

    Good evening mightylucene !

As a Linuxist, I can assure you that it is possible to install a Linux distribution on any device.
It just takes knowledge to do so.

How familiar are you with Linux systems, command shell, package management and installation?
