To be more specific i'm using a predator Helios. when i open the nvidia control panel the only option i have is 3D setting. i can't change anything about my resolution from nvidia control panel.
To change your display settings go to Settings/System/Display. Incidentally 1920 x 1080 is the recommended resolution for your model and trying to use anything else will always be tough to get full screen

Some systems do not have this type of access to the panel, only when connected to an external monitor.

randomnerd1 as it was said display options will only appear on the DGPU nvcp if you have an external display you have to control the display options though the IGPU the intel graphic settings/console and your default resolution its 1080p some older games might not support some resolutions you might have to tweak them manually in the game conf settings to enable it i would give it a search on google :)
