So I was just watching youtube when suddenly the magical blue screen of death appeared (PC ran into a problem). I had similar situation last week, but I was able to restore the laptop to a 'restore point'. This time around it was on-loop, went inside recovery mode and finally decided to maybe just to a Clean Reset - to my surprise the reset failed! After the reset, it went straight to the desktop login - instead of going to the windows setup (Im I wrong here?) .. I assumed it failed and tried to reset again... TL'DR:

1. Failed to reset
2. Because I made a clean reset, somehow my restore backups are gone
3. My only option is to reformat outside Windows Recovery - AKA Bootable USB
--
I created a bootable usb using my mac (I have no access to other windows pc).
- ExFat / GPT
- Mounted the Win10 Installer
- Copy pasted the Mount contents to the USB

In my Helios 300 (2019 version, i5 9th gen) I did the following:
1. Login to Bios (It seem to be strictly UEFI) therefore, I did the following
2. BIOS / Main / F12 Boot Menu → [Enable]
3. BIOS / Security / Set Supervisor Password → [Created new password]
4. BIOS / Boot / Secure Boot → [Disabled]
5. F10 Save & Exit
6. Restart PC, on 'Predator' icon load, I pressed F12 to load the 'Boot Menu'
7. The bootable USB do not know (I thought the USB is wrongly formatted, however, I redid the process in created a bootable drive and still not detected.
8. I made another confirmation by navigating to BIOS Security / Select UEFI Files as trusted - I can see the USB is detected.

I'm facing a blank wall now as I cannot reformat my PC. Maybe there is something wrong n my process of making a bootable usb using Mac. I am still under warranty but I'm away from my country.  Would you guys recommend going to a PC shop for helps or is there something wrong in my process. Please let me know =,(

rescueahero have you formatted your drive (which had the acer stock recovery) or is your recovery still intact if so why not perform a stock recovery clean install  in the case its gone/corrupted you need to create a usb drive via windows media creation tool i would suggest you create it via windows not mac if needed create it in a friends pc doenst matter which one but should be a windows os machine (16gb usb drive dont use more than 16gb neither less) and you cant copy paste it into the usb drive it has to be burned via software because it wont create the uefi boot partition properly you can try to burn it via rufus good luck :)

    Hi Xapim,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I actually tried that ' Reset PC / Fully Clean Drive ' option. However it seemed to have failed. It just went straight to Desktop Login and bypass Windows Setup as I expected. Looks like a bootable usb is the only option left.

Is Windows Bootcamp a viable option for making the bootable USB?

@rescueahero Your USB isn't being listed as a bootable option because you didn't properly create installation media. You'll want to create the installation media via the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. You can download it from here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

As Xapim stated, you're gonna want to do this on a machine that is running Windows. Plug your USB into your machine and run the Media Creation Tool. The Media Creation Tool will walk you through the process of making bootable Windows 10 installation media, you just need to follow the prompts. After it finishes, you should have a UEFI-bootable USB drive. Just plug it in to your laptop and boot to it the same way you tried to before.

    Good luck.

rescueahero if you still have access to the OS normally  and assuming your recovery partition its still intact get a 16gb usb drive and create a stock recovery usb drive via care center and use that drive to reinstall it if not the other only viable option its via media creation tool :)
