No signal to monitor

Hi, I've had my Acer Aspire GX-785 series PC for a couple of years now and everything has been working great. This morning, however, not knowing the PC was already powered on, I pressed the power button once and I guess the system hibernated or something. Now, there is no signal to the monitor as if the PC is stuck in the startup options. Those startup options have never showed up on my monitor, so I don't know what to press to advance. I've tried a couple of the F keys and Enter to no avail, and I've used the power button to do a hard shut down a few times but nothing is getting me past this "no signal" problem. The keyboard and mouse are lighting up. The only other thing that's concerning me is that after a couple of restart attempts the fan motor is now roaring for a few seconds, about 30 seconds to a minute after powering on.

The model number of the PC is AG6W1. Please let me know if there is more information you need, because I've never asked for PC help in a forum before and I'm not sure of the standard protocol. Thanks!

    Hi @jessetheseeker ,
    try to do a simple troubleshoot step given below.
    Remove all cable from PC including the power cable and press and hold down the power button for 30 sec.then plug all cables back into the PC.
    after, you need to check that are you able to get into the BIOS or not.
    1. Power on the system. As soon before screen appears, immediately tap on DELETE key continuously to enter the BIOS. {you will get a blue screen }
    2. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    3. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit.
    try this and post your results.

    Thanks, I will try this suggestion in a few minutes. At some point the PC stopped giving off the startup "beep" so I was getting pretty concerned, then one of the times that I pressed Enter the PC restarted and finally beeped again. Now, I'm giving it a little bit of time in case it's repairing or something along those lines. Not being able to see anything on the screen it's impossible for me to know.

    Okay, I've tried those steps. I never got any screen on my monitor, just "no signal." This has always been the case, though, as I've never been able to see my BIOS are other screens that come before the OS is booted. I pressed all the keys in the order you recommended, and the PC restarted and beeped, but I'm still sitting at a blank "no signal" screen. The fans are running and everything else lights up normally.

    Switching monitors solved it! Thank you so much. I'm not sure why today of all days the monitor chose to stop giving me signal, but I'm grateful for the help!
