Hi
i have acer aspire a315-56 it is capable of handling HDD and SSD (M.2) at the same time
SO
befor 2 weeks I cloned my HDD to a SSD m.2
via third-party application called Macrium Reflect
so the new SSD had the same files(including windows) of the HDD
after that i open the BIOS and select the SSD to boot windwos from
and it works and every thing is fine
but today i opend the BIOS and after rebooting the device exiting the BIOS its reboteed from HDD!!!!
so i reopend the bios and reselect the SSD and exit the Bios and its booted from SSD agine
so my question is can I erase the partition that has Windows in my computer(previously) to make sure that it is just rebooting from SSD
or it will make a proplems
note:already all my files and operating system(windows)are now in SSD

    Hi @OmarKhattab,
You should make sure that you have everything from HDD is transferred to SSD before deleting the HDD, so what I suggest is to remove HDD and boot only with SSD and make sure that the cloning was done properly, then you can delete the HDD and use with the SSD.

im running windows from SSD for past 2 weeks and all my data is in SSD
  • Do the following: disconnect the hdd and check if windows is started correctly by ssd. If it starts correctly, connect the HDD again and delete the partition, using powershell as an administrator:
    diskpart
    list disk
    sel disk x
clean (this command erases the hdd, even if it is partitioned)
    convert gpt
    create partition primary
    format fs = ntfs quick
    assign.

i want to keep the partition so can i use disk cleanup to format it?

    Hi,
I would suggest you to transfer important data to an external HDD from HDD(E) and HDD(D) partitions, you can transfer your Pictures, Videos, Music and Documents to another HDD, then you can delete the 1TB HDD.
