After replacing the screen and repasted, my laptop doesnt turn on. Even the light of battery during plugged in power cord not on too. I did all the suggestions on internet and didnt work. Then I take the m.2 oit and feel the ITE chip (I/O power management circuit) gets warm. I dont know how to make it work again...

Did you disconnect the battery when you replaced the screen and re-pasted? Jack E/NJ

    (1) Why did you replace the screen?

    (2) Is it still under warranty?

Did you try to arrange for an ACER warranty repair only for a laptop that doesn't seem to turn on? Jack E/NJ

Yeah I did. Since I repasted, I dont know if they realize that and void my warranty without checking for the cause of no-power

    Luan_Nguyen you stated:
    <<<Since I repasted,>>>
Did you repasted it yourself ?? if so did you broke any warranty seals if thats the case yes your warranty its voided but if you didnt had any seals/stickers its still valid assuming nothing was broken during the process but if it was the service center that repasted it you have nothing to worry the warranty its still valid

I repasted it myself, and I didnt see any warranty seal. I put nail polish on some electric area around the processor to prevent liquid metal damage it. After I realize that the power couldnt be on, I repasted it with normal thermal paste but the nail polish is still there. I dont know if they void the warranty based on that.
Worth noting that I did the liquid metal very carefully and it didnt spread out of processor area, so I am sure it did not cause that problem, then I cleaned it carefully and repasted with normal thermal paste.

Just try to get a warranty repair only for a machine than won't turn on. Jack E/NJ

  • I agree with my colleagues JackE and xapim. However, I would try to disconnect the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds and see if it solves the problem.
