What are the initial things to do first? How to know if it is genuine and not refurbished?

No need to do all that as you don't have a problem that needs fixing. Battery life is relative to the background processes running and also relative to what you are actually doing on battery. Browsing YouTube or watching Netflix will put a heavy load on the battery so 2 to 3 hours is about right for videos, it's what I get doing the same thing. With the Internet shut off, doing Word Processing, using Office or Excel will give max battery life, so battery life is proportional to the tasks being performed.

On your question of initial charging it won't be a problem as long as you perform the task soon, charge to 100% then drain down to just under 10% and recharge the laptop, repeat for a total of 3 times and this will calibrate your battery meter and do this every couple of months for optimal battery health.

Remember that when gaming charge your battery to 100% BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged in while gaming, this does not damage the battery as charging shuts off at 100% and trickle charges when the battery drops to around 98%. Your CPU will not operate on Max unless this method is utilized.

    Hi,
You need to fully charge the battery before using for the first time, as for the second question, it depends on where you bought the laptop, if it's a reputable retailer then you don't have to worry about it's authenticity, the original product comes in a sealed box, you can check whether the seal is broken, it's also better to register your laptop with Acer support centre in your region.

I recently bought helios300(2019).How can i test my laptop if anything is damaged? How can i check can anyone explain what to do ?
  • Hi,
Could  you please post the full model name of your laptop, like PH3xx-xx, don't update BIOS unnecessarily because newer BIOS may cause problems and also there's an outside chance of bricking your laptop, so I would  suggest you to leave the BIOS update alone.

I forgot to leave the battery to charge 100% at first after purchasing rather I watched youtube and tested sound and other things first while charging. Will it affect my battery ? Then I installed 3/4 games like fortnite,Witcher 3. And now I am trying to test battery capacity by just browsing youtube and coding at 50%brightness. It only lasted for 2.5 hrs with 20% remaining. Is it normal ? I am worried if my battery is sort of damaged or so.

Hi, am sorry to hear about the issue. Kindly try the below steps and post your results.

Power Drain and BIOS RESET :

    2) Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.

    3) Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and  hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and turn the unit back to normal position.

    4) When the unit is off completely, press the power to turn on the unit.

    5) Immediately keep on tapping the F2 to enter the BIOS.

    6) In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.

    7) At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.

    8) Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm.

Try uninstalling and re-installing the battery drivers of the unit, follow the steps below:

    1) In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.

    2) Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the battery driver, and select Uninstall.

    3) Restart your PC.

    4) Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
