I have seen the answers for deleting accounts but the @Acer-Karp is not a link. How do I contact? No sense keeping the account when the laptop died upon being upgraded to Win10 and the product key was lost and irretrievable so there is no going back to Win8

    Hi boo

The product key is built-in into your computer hardware, and not separately available.
In order to perform a clean installation of Windows 10, you will first need to install the original operating system supplied with your PC.
After you restore your original version of Windows, you can upgrade your operating system to Windows 10 and activate Windows 10 online. This will update the product key to be compatible with Windows 10.

If you have already activated windows 10 earlier, please follow the steps in the below weblink to perform a clean install after the Windows 10 upgrade.

Hey! Look at that! When I type it into a query it suddenly becomes a link. No need to answer.

I appreciate your attempt to help with the Acer PC. I have already purchased a replacement. It would be nice to have an acceptable product key, but it is not recognized. No matter what I do it remains an unacceptable key. I talked to a tech at Microsoft who suggested I buy one off eBay. I did. WindowsandOffice in Berlin were quite helpful but their keys didn't work either. I have done all I could. I have paid others to do what they could. I cannot install the OS that came with the laptop because there was no OS included in the box. It was on the machine. Interestingly, once I upgraded to Win10 the backup disc I made when it was new also wouldn't reinstall the OS. Alas. Nothing worked. Windows 10 killed that Acer laptop.
And, Sharanji, I clicked like simply because you tried and that would likely work on any machine but this one.

You should have contacted your local Acer store. They would have formatted it on their own.
