Hey, guys. I'm trying to look for a dust protection cover for my Acer Triton 500 for both the keyboard and the touchpad and I ran into these sites. They use the same GUI, font, etc. Are these sites scams? I am genuinely looking for touchpad and keyboard covers. Any other site recommendations to buy instead will help if these sites are scams. Here are the links and thanks in advance:

    Good Morning csuntico !

My recommendation is that you do not purchase such covers.
Laptops (mostly high-performance) are over-sized compared to desktops.
Using such covers only helps to increase the internal temperature.

I believe that I acquired a good sandblaster (like MasterSux) and keeping your device clean constantly is more effective and safer.

Do you mean use compressed air cans to blow away the stuff? The T guy on my Acer Predator Helios 300 is stuck.

I own this model and have used it for more than 15 years on my equipment:

Together with a soft, antistatic brush and microfiber fabric.

I have a similar item, but does a vacuum effect. It doesn't blow out air, but rather sucks it in with a weak input. Ok, if I can't find the one you suggested, is Compressed air ok?

Yea, my item does what yours does but still not enough. That's why I want a keyboard cover. Does anyone know where I can get the keyboard cover for this as well as the Touchpad cover? Thanks in advance.
  • In addition to what colleague maclane said about the cover, remember that your keyboard is backlit. Perhaps the plastic contained in the cover will make the keys wear out faster, but I'm not sure about that. I've seen some reports from users, that the keys have worn out using the keys normally, imagine what a cover would do. In addition, current notebooks tend to get much hotter.

Ok. Then what suggestions might you have to keep the keyboard and touchpad clean besides that vacuum item?

csuntico just to add also that regarding fans cleaning the best for those who are able to without voiding the warranty its to open it and clean the fans properly i have seen ppl using compressed air to clean the fans and they ended up by damaging (as if used improperly it will) them they are a very sensitive hardware part for those who cant open it due to warranty the best its to alwasys to get acer service to give it a clean under warranty and to clean dust from the keyboard/display and everything else i myself just use baby wipes and after dry it straight away with kitchen roll or toilet paper but a vacuum will do as well as suggested above :) i would also advise against any keyboard/touchpad covers it will increase the temps and even probably get the keys damage faster due to the heat because after all its a gaming laptop it runs hot its not a U cpu

I won't be opening the interior. This is more cleaning the keyboard and fan that I'm focusing on.
