Hello! I want to upgrade ram module from the currently 8gb to 16gb so i ran cpu-z to find out what type of ram I have in order to get a similar one.

I looked on crucial site to find a compatible ddr4-3200 mhz module and found one. Then I emailed my local service store to be perfectly sure that I get the right one and they wrote me back that in fact I need a 2666 mhz for my exact model ( which is NHQ59EX03F93803D373400). Is that correct? Shouldn’t I get the 3200 mhz as cpu-z shows?
Thank you!

You are correct as per you models Service Guide your Motherboard supports 2400/2666Mhz. Acer often install RAM that they may have ordered in bulk for a good price and in your case shipped it with 3200mhz RAM. However the max speed your MOB supports is 2666mhz. It is curious that CPUZ shows that it is running at 3200 when it is a single stick and we have seen many other users reporting the same thing. However all these users report that when they add a 2nd RAM stick everything then runs at the supported speed, in your case 2666mhz
So to conclude adding a adding a 3200mhz will probably be a waste of money because when the 2 sticks are installed your system will then run at the supported 2666mhz, so installing 2666 may save you a little. However I am a great believer in matching RAM so installing the 3200mhz will do no harm even if it downclocks to 2666mhz (which I'm pretty sure it will). In short 2666 or 3200 will work but both will run at 2666mhz

In the task manager i get 2667 mhz, so i should be fine buying the 2666 one, but in terms of compatibility will I encounter any issues using 3200+2666 mhz modules?

No. Ideally, you should purchase another memory with similar characteristics, even if the speed of the ram is not a requirement to activate the dual channel, to avoid incompatibilities, see: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005657/boards-and-kits.html#dual

Less potential complications if you use a 3200 module

I got the 2666 mhz one as recommended by the technician from the local ACER partner ( after I explained him than my laptop runs with 3200 mhz ram module even though it only supports up to 2666) and right now i'm on dual channel with 2666 mhz. It all seems to be nice and smooth, I hope it stays like this.
Thank you all for the help!
