My laptop was working perfectly last night. But this morning I tried to turn it on but nothing happened. Not even the LED which shows it is on is working. Even the LED which shows when it is charging is not working. So I connected it to charger but nothing. And it can’t be caused by the charger since at has 80% battery when I switched it off last night and it should work even if the charger is faulty. And if it is the battery, why isn’t it working even when connected to the charger? It is so dead and nothing happens no matter what I do. Any guess or advice?

  • Have you tried to reset the battery?
Is there an interlock button, similar to this, on the motherboard?

Hello! Once again in forums, my laptop (aspire 3) does the same after 3-4 days of inactivity while it is plugged in! So overcharging is the reason, and as it seems your battery is in bad shape.. Leave your laptop unplugged for some hours ( in some cases days) and try reseting the battery, after that you should be able to use it! By the way you will find the best support in forums!

Acer laptops cannot overcharge, they shut off charging when the battery reaches 100%. As the battery is used they will begin trickle charging again at around 98%
