Hi everybody,

I have a returning problem with my fingerprint sensor. Sometimes (about twice or three times a week) it just stops working. Then I have to go into Device-Manager to disable and reenable it. Starts to work fine again.

This is my current driver:
ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor
Driverversion: 3.6.1.1101
Driverdate: 04.12.2017

That means I have to login with my password and go to device-manager 3 times a week. Which is really annoying.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi @lucaslep
    1) Go to Device Manager; click the fingerprint driver; in Power Management disable "The computer can turn off the device to save power" option.
    2) If this does not resolve, then you may need to update the driver! To do this, copy and paste idhardware here so we can help you
    3) Try to reinstalled driver for the fingerprint, uninstall device from the device manager and than install, if its not resolved try for system restore select the date fingerprint sensor working fine, if this not working Go for System rest

    thanks for your quick reply.
Unfortunately I don't have the tab "Power Management". Even after following this tutorial: https://danantonielli.com/missing-device-power-management-options-fix/, I still only have "general", "driver", "details" and "events" visible.

I have the same laptop and the same issue! I'm using driver version 3.10.12001.10101 but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've seen quite a few comments that say we should try to disable power management but that isn't an option in the device manager for the fingerprint reader. So I'm still stuck. Has anyone got any further updates or ideas? Thanks...

ALERT! ALERT!  Tech_Man SOLUTION WORKS, BUTTTTTTT.....
You have to have the device ENABLED BEFORE you can see the Power Management Tab!!!

So if the device is disabled, uninstall it, Scan for Hardware Changes and this will ENABLE IT, then you will have the Power Management Tab
