  • Hello,
The Quad-Core CPU variante has four memory slots so a maximum memory amount of 32 GB like this motherboard. Could you post a picture of the memory slots?

Your 4 memory slots take DDR 3 - 1066 Mhz. Each memory bank is double sided or back to back, see the illustrations below

    Hey thanks guys,

Very much appreciated. I will have a look and try this. So when you say back to back there only appears to be one slot, but it takes 2 is that right?

    Many Thanks

Yes study the picture each RAM stick is marked with either a Red or Yellow line and as you can see they sit in separate slots one on top of the other. If I have answered your question please click YES

In the memory combination chart for your model they have given the memory size in Mb instead of Gb so for example read 8192 as 8gb

As you can see it clearly states 2 of 4 slots used. Could this be wrong?

    Thanks

  • Could you give me the first ten characters of the motherboard serial number?
You can get it like this:
    1. Launch Command Prompt or PowerShell
    2. Type this command: wmic baseboard get serialnumber
    3. Note the first ten
    4. Type: exit

The slot is directly behind and almost touching the RAM stick already installed, it is in the same DIMM cradle not a separate one

Remove one of your RAM sticks and there should be another slot directly behind it

    Hi andylb,
There are four clips per pair of slots on your pictures. According to his motherboard part number, there are only two clips so one memory module per slot:

Unfortunately if you only have 2 slots then 8 x 8 for 16gb is maximum. However 32gb is almost never needed for anything other than higly demanding 3d CAD programs. 16gb is more than adequate for the most demanding games. I am still at a loss as to why you don't have 4 slots. All the supporting literature for your model says that the Quad Core processor variant has 4 DIMM slots
